What happens after an employee reports a concern?
Once submitted, and depending on the nature of the concern, an investigation may be opened. When we receive a report of any matter that suggests workplace misconduct such as discrimination, harassment, or retaliation we begin an investigation.
Zendesk will have qualified personnel (trained in the investigatory process) conduct a timely, thorough and objective investigation. We will protect confidentiality to the greatest extent possible, but we may need to disclose certain information in a number of circumstances including but not limited to where this is necessary to carry out an effective investigation into the concern raised. Throughout the process, alignment and updates are also provided to individuals that need to know.
Once we complete the investigation, Zendesk will determine what, if any, action should be taken including disciplinary action up to and including termination. Zendesk commits to getting involved and taking fair, proportional and appropriate action in all cases where behavior does not match our stated values. Please see our Global Equity Policy for more information on how we strive to have our employees focus on not just the intent behind their actions, but also the impact of those actions.
